The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois approve the funding for the project which is expected to cost around $232 million.
The facility will be part of UIC's Illinois Innovation Network hub, and will include wet labs, offices, and research spaces for the College of Pharmacy, the school's Cancer Center and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences’ department of chemistry.
The project is being paid for with money from state of Illinois capital appropriations, UIC’s operating budget and gift funds.
