The former mayor of south suburban Dolton and Thornton Township supervisor appears to have stepped away from politics, at least for the time being.

Tiffany Henyard surfaced on Facebook over the weekend with a video from what she described as the soft opening of her clothing store called "Tha New Wave."

"I'm back!" she told viewers. "Well, I never went anywhere, but look at what I've been doing!"

For more than ten minutes, viewers saw her tending a barbecue grill during a grand opening party, and giving a tour of her boutique.

"We want you to feel like you're a king-slash-queen when you come up in here," she said, mentioning brands including Supreme and Puma. She then highlighted the store's subtitle: "'From Ashes To Icon.' Yep, that's me. And that's you. So come support!"

And dozens of supporters who wanted to do just that posted comments on the video asking for the address, but received no response.

But a source in Dolton confirms to WBBM Newsradio that Henyard, who lost her bid for re-election after federal authorities launched an investigation into Dolton's finances, moved to Georgia about two months ago.

And her website says the store's in Dolton, but a comparison of Google Street View images with the background of Henyard's video reveals it's actually in a strip mall in Atlanta, in a storefront once rented by a dance studio.

In the meantime, two members of Henyard's administration whom the feds indicted during the Dolton investigation - former administrator Keith Freeman and onetime acting police chief Lewis Lacey - are expected to be in court next month to change their pleas on fraud-related charges.

Henyard has not been charged with a crime.
