(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A federal jury on Friday found a former Portage, Indiana mayor guilty of bribery.

Prosecutors said James Snyder took a $13,000 check seven years ago from a trucking firm to influence a more than $1 million purchase of garbage trucks.

Snyder was first found guilty in 2019, but the conviction was overturned later that year and a former judge in the case ordered a retrial, which ended Friday.

Snyder will be sentenced in July. He faces up to 10 years in federal prison.
