DOLTON, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- If your phone blared a warning signal while you were asleep Sunday night, you know there was an Amber Alert going on. Now, there’s an update.

Dolton police said 1-year-old Carleigh B Mackey was taken when the car she was in, a white 2015 BMW, was stolen Sunday night from the Food 4 Less gas station on Sibley near Greenwood.

According to police, a black SUV had pulled up next to the white SUV the girl had been in, when a man got out of the black vehicle and into the white one and the two SUVs drove off.

An Amber Alert blared over people’s phones around 10:40 p.m. Sunday night.

The car was found less than a mile and a half away not too long after with the girl inside. She was reported to be okay.

The carjacker has not yet been caught.
