(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Parents planning graduation parties or other events to celebrate the end of the school year are being warned by health officials to be careful so that they don't create super-spreader events.
That's what happened last year in places like north suburban Lake County. Emily Young of the county's health department said the same thing could happen again this year, if parents aren't careful.
Unless parents are absolutely sure that everyone attending a party has been fully vaccinated, it's still important to follow COVID-19 safety precautions, she said.
“If you are unvaccinated, keep following those precautions: Wear a mask, social-distance, wash your hands,” Young said.
A similar warning has been issued by the health department in Will County.
