(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Grayslake man who lives in a home where a daycare is run has been arrested on child pornography charges.
Jose Real, 52, will remain behind bars before trial on charges of possession of child pornography of children under the age of 13.
Lake County Sheriff's Detectives executed a search warrant last month at a home in the 1200 block of Chesterfield Lane in Grayslake after learning that pornographic videos of children were being downloaded there.
It's also where one of Real's family members runs a child day care that has since been temporarily shut down by the Department of Children & Family Services while the investigation is ongoing.
Investigators say Real allegedly tried to hide his cell phone in a potted plant and over 1000 pictures and videos of child porn involving some as young as infants were found on it.
The department says deputies are now actively investigating whether any of the children at the daycare were linked to the photos and videos and that more charges against Real are likely.
