The son of Illinois republican governor candidate Darren Bailey has died, along with his daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.
Zachary Bailey, his wife Kelsey, 12-year-old Vada Rose and 7-year-old Samuel were in Montana when their helicopter crashed.
That’s according to Darren Bailey’s campaign which tweeted that his 10-year-old grandson Finn was not on board and is ok.
A statement from Bailey’s campaign says he and his wife are heartbroken by the loss.
A campaign spokesman tells WBBM Zach was flying the helicopter when it crashed.
The National Transportation Safety Board reports it’s investigating a crash in eastern Montana, near Ekalaka.
