CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Valentine’s Day may not be the only big day to get hitched next month since it has two easy-to-remember anniversary dates: Feb. 2 and 22 of 2022.

The dates may be too tempting for some twosomes, a reason why the Kane County clerk’s office is ready for couples looking to get married on 2-2-22 or 2-22-22.

Kane County Clerk John Cunningham said he expects the number of people applying for marriage licenses to keep growing and that those days could be big days to tie the knot.

Cunningham said January and February are already busy times for his office to process marriage certificates.

And after a dip in 2020, the office issued nearly 3,000 last year.

Applicants can start the process online but will have to pick it up in person at the clerk’s office in Geneva or Aurora.

Both parties will need to be there with proof of ID and $32 in cash for the fee.
