CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Three buildings caught fire in Belmont Cragin on Chicago’s Northwest Side overnight.
Chicago firefighters were called to a fire on Medill Avenue near Lavergne at around 2:30am. Police officers responded as well and saw an apartment building and neighboring houses on each side on fire.
Police said one of the buildings was vacant and people in the two others were able to get out without injury.
The City brought in a warming bus for residents in the freezing temperatures. The fire department is investigating the cause.
