(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The DuPage County Coroner's Office has identified the man who was shot and killed by Carol Stream police officers Saturday: Isaac Goodlow III.
The officers responded to a residence on East St. Charles Road near Easy Street for a domestic violence call at about 4:15 a.m.
Officials said police arrived at a "tense, uncertain and rapidly evolving" scene, but they didn't specify what led the officers to shoot Goodlow.
The 30-year-old was taken with critical injuries to Central DuPage Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No officers were injured.
While DuPage County's Metropolitan Emergency Response and Investigative Team (MERIT) investigates the shooting, Carol Stream police said the involved officers have been placed on leave. Officials said the investigation will continue "for an indeterminate amount of time."
The police department said it will coordinate with the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office regarding the release of body-worn camera footage.
