Man sets fires at his former workplace after losing his job

ANTIOCH, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Fox Lake man is charged with setting fires at his former place of employment Tuesday night after losing his job.

Jonathan Tracy, 31 was fired from his job at an automotive business on Route 173 in unincorporated Antioch and he returned, setting fires outside, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

A 911 caller driving by said it appeared someone was intentionally setting fires. When Sheriff’s deputies arrived, they found a motorcycle fully engulfed in flames.

They said Tracy was irate and was shouting that he wanted to speak with his boss who had fired him earlier in the day.

Authorities also said he was using gas and oil to set fires. The fire department was called and Tracey was arrested. He’s charged with Arson.

Tracey's criminal history includes 2020 charges that he broke into a home and beat a woman.
