HOMEWOOD (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man was shot during an attempted carjacking in the South suburbs Sunday night.
Police were called to a shopping complex near Halsted Street and Maple Avenue around 7:30 p.m. That’s where they found a 19-year-old man who had been shot during an attempted carjacking.
He was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition.
Homewood police said those involved fled the scene but did not provide a vehicle description.
Officials are now working with Illinois State Police in their investigation.
