(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Nearly 51 years after a 15-year-old girl disappeared from the south suburbs, police are once again asking for anyone with information about her to come forward.
Nancy O'Sullivan disappeared in March 1974. She was last seen in the area of Homewood or South Holland.
Homewood Police Chief Denise McGrath says the case has never been forgotten.
Over the years, multiple accounts have surfaced regarding her last known whereabouts, but no definitive answers have been found, police said.
"We believe that someone out there knows something-perhaps a detail that seemed insignificant at the time but could now be the missing piece to this puzzle. We urge anyone with information to come forward."
The search for clues about what happened continues.
“Absolutely any information. It’s not necessarily directed towards somebody who might know something about her disappearance, but someone who knows something about Nancy. Anything that we can learn about Nancy I think will help us find some resolution, and find out what happened to her.”
Homewood police have also released an age-progression photo of what Nancy O'Sullivan might look like today.
Anyone with information about Nancy is asked to contact the Homewood police department by emailing the dedicated tip inbox at Nancy1974@homewoodil.gov or calling (708) 206-3373.
