CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- North Halsted Street in the Boystown neighborhood is hosting the popular Northalsted Market Days festival this weekend, kicking off Friday night.

The festival, billed as the largest street festival in the Midwest, includes six stages between on North Halsted between Belmont and Addison with live music and performances through the weekend. Headliners include Greyson Chance, Todrick Hall, and Trixie Mattel.

The organizer, The Northalsted Business Alliance, said they’re following “all city guidelines for outdoor street fests," which essentially means no guidelines; however, organizers encourage attendees to be vaccinated or wear a mask.

While neither vaccinations or masks are required, it is noted that majority of the Northalsted bars are requiring patrons to show proof of vaccination to enter their businesses.

Additionally, Northalsted Business Alliance will partner with Northshore Clinical Labs to offer free COVID-19 testing ahead of festival and at the gates.

People can get tested for COVID-19 ahead of the festival by visiting the Center on Halsted, located at 3656 N. Halsted St. Free rapid testing will also be available at the Market Days entrance gates.

There also will be a COVID-19 vaccination booth inside the fest. The booth will offer the Moderna vaccine, with second doses available at Northshore Clinical Labs, located at 4751 N. Kedzie Ave.

There’s no charge for entry, but there is a $15 suggested donation.

Gates open Friday at 5 p.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
