EVANSTON, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The president of Northwestern University is speaking out after more details were released about an alleged hazing incident involving the school's football team. The allegations resulted in the suspension late last week of head coach Patrick Fitzgerald.
Northwestern University said it will take another look at what steps to take in connection with head football coach, Pat Fitzgerald's punishment for
allegations of hazing.
In a statement, Northwestern President Michael Schill said he will be
reassessing Fitzgerald's two week suspension after new details were
published in the Daily Northwestern.
A former player alleged students were forced to strip naked and perform other questionable acts in hazing incidents last year.
Schill said he may have erred in weighing the appropriate sanction
against Fitzgerald and the head coach failed to uphold his commitment to
players.
