(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A man is dead after being shot by police in the south suburbs early Friday.
Dolton police say they were responding to an emergency call from a woman for some type of disturbance involving a man she had an order of protection against.
Two officers say they saw a man in a car holding a weapon when they arrived. After several efforts to get him to drop that weapon, the officers reportedly opened fire and killed the man.
This happened on 144th Place, just east of MLK Drive in Dolton.
Illinois State Police are investigating.
