CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The search is on for whoever sent a bomb threat email to the principal of Naperville North High School, leading to the cancellation of classes and activities Wednesday.

The school is set to reopen Thursday.

Naperville police Cmdr. Michaus Williams said police thoroughly searched the school after the threat was received including using bomb-sniffing dogs.

"Those dogs, with the assistance of our officers and even some staff members, checked school looking for anything suspicious and sniffing for any explosive devices and they cannot locate any," Williams told WBBM Newsradio.

Students and staff in the building were moved to Naperville Central High School.

He said police are attempting to track down whoever sent the email and investigators are asking anyone with information about the threat or the sender to contact police.
