
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Two men who were expecting to meet dates through the Plenty of Fish dating app were instead held up at knifepoint on the Northwest Side, Chicago police said.
In an alert, Area Five detectives said the robberies happened on April 14 and 15. In both cases, the men were forced to transfer money to the robbers’ accounts
Chicago police have warned residents about two robberies on the Northwest Side this month tied to the Plenty of Fish dating app.
Police said a woman allegedly made the first armed robbery in the middle of the afternoon in Hollywood Park near Olive and Jersey Avenues.
The second robbery allegedly involved a man and a woman near Addison Street and Milwaukee Avenue.
Detectives said they want to hear from anyone else who has information about these robberies.
