(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A treasure trove of memorabilia from a Chicago Cubs legend will hit the auction block in August.
Dallas-based Heritage Auctions will sell a number of items from the estate of Baseball Hall of Famer Ernie Banks.
They include the first professional baseball contract ever signed by Banks -- an agreement to play for the Negro League Kansas City Monarchs in 1950.
Fans of Mr. Cub can also bid on his Army discharge papers and his Hall of Fame ring.
Other items include other items from his personal life, plus his own sports collectibles.
"Signed bats that he acquired through his career; a key to the city from Quincy, Illinois; some personal sports collectibles that he collected, like a Tiger Woods signed US Open flag," said Heritage Auctions Sports Category Director Chris Ivy.
The Banks collection isn't the only lot with Chicago ties.
A Chicago Bulls jersey worn by Michael Jordan in Game 3 of the 1998 Eastern Conference Finals will also hit the auction block.
"It's been photo-matched to be on Jordan's back during that game. A very cool piece. We expect that one to sell for well over six figures," Ivy said.
The auction is August 19-20.
