(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A southwest suburban couple faces federal charges for allegedly taking part in the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
Federal agents arrested John and Amy Schubert of Crest Hill. They are each charged with two counts of knowingly entering a restricted building without lawful entry, along with two counts of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
Authorities say the FBI was able to track them down through a YouTube video that showed a woman wearing a Joliet union jacket.
Using geolocation data, the FBI reportedly found Amy Schubert's Google account and matched her identity to the woman in the video.
They later found pictures and video of John Schubert in the Capitol on Amy's phone, authorities said.
