The Illinois Hunger Coalition is closing this Fall after nearly four decades of service

The Coalition was founded in 1988, and says on its website that it's the only statewide membership coalition working to end hunger and address its underlying issues.

Illinois Hunger Coalition board president, Father Bill Vanecko, who did not give a reason for the Coalition closing, says its mission is "more urgent than ever", and he's calling on other advocates in the state to continue to fight for anti-poverty initiatives.
