CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A black stuffed doll is at the center of a controversy at one of the city’s top selective enrollment schools.

The principal of Whitney Young High School told parents and students in an email that an investigation has been started into a name-calling screaming match between a couple of teachers.

Principal Joyce Kenner said one of the teachers had hung a black doll of a football player from a projector screen cord and wanted students to see it in case someone wanted to claim it. A black teacher saw it and objected, and the two got into it. A student filmed the incident.

Kenner said in an email to students and parents that an official incident report was filed and that official disciplinary protocol will be followed.
