Two men wounded in Far South Side shooting

Officers responded around 10:05 p.m. to a report of shots fired near 93rd Street and Cottage Grove Avenue in the Burnside neighborhood. Police said two adult men were sitting inside a vehicle when three unknown suspects approached, displayed firearms and opened fire.

CHICAGO (WBBM Newsradio) – Two men were wounded late Sunday in a shooting on Chicago’s Far South Side, police said.

Officers responded around 10:05 p.m. to a report of shots fired near 93rd Street and Cottage Grove Avenue in the Burnside neighborhood. Police said two adult men were sitting inside a vehicle when three unknown suspects approached, displayed firearms and opened fire.

A 31-year-old man was shot in the left elbow and was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.

A 22-year-old man sustained multiple gunshot wounds and transported himself to Trinity Hospital. He was listed in fair condition.

No arrests have been announced. Area Two detectives are investigating.
