(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The e-commerce giant Wayfair has announced plans to open its first Chicago-area store this spring.

Wayfair officials said the store will be located in Wilmette’s Edens Plaza, where it will take the space of a vacant, two-story building that used to house Carson Pirie Scott.

According to the Wayfair website, the store will allow people to “shop, explore and be inspired like never before with huge immersive and interactive experiences across 19 departments, from furniture and decor to outdoor and home improvement.”

There will also be an in-store restaurant.

Wayfair has not yet announced an exact date for the store’s opening.
