What do you love about Chicago?

Choose Chicago wants to know and help to change the narrative.

"People have this perception of this city. Like any city, this isn't new, we have our issues but it's far from what the media can sometimes frame it is. This is something Chicago has and will continue to have to navigate," said Lisa Nucci, Chief Marketing Officer, Choose Chicago.

"The statistics say the city isn't what the media makes it out to be. We are humble and proud of Chicago so we want to hear from you."

The push for tourism to Chicago's comes at a time when President Trump is calling Chicago a "hellhole" and threatening to send the National Guard for crime.

"We knew we needed to cultivate and bring together all the amazing stories about what Chicago means to people and elevate that. When everything was going on in the news and the terrible narrative that Chicago is dangerous, we knew we needed to launch this now. We turned it around in 24 hours. " said Nucci.

The "All for the Love of Chicago" initiative is asking the public to share their stories, photos and videos about Chicago's culture, its skyline, its food or its community.

"Take a selfie, take us around your neighborhood, show us your favorite place to run on the lakefront, go to dinner with your friends, or go to the park with your kids. Tell us the story of Chicago through your eyes. Follow us on social media, tag and share it and we will repost it."

The campaign is a result of surveys and listening tours Choose Chicago does on a yearly basis where they ask residents about how they feel about their city, its challenges and suggestions for improvement.

Nucci says it's about amplifying the voices of real people.

"It's time to tell our story like no one else can," she said.
