CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health announced Monday that Region 7 - Kankakee and Will counties - is moving to Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan effective immediately.
Under Phase 4 guidelines, indoor dining and drinking will now be permitted for parties of up to 10 people. Seated areas should still be arranged so that tables allow for six feet between parties. IDPH said impermeable barriers may be installed between booths which are less than six feet apart.
Also under Phase 4 guidelines, retail and service businesses, as well as personal care businesses, can operate at 50 percent capacity.
Select indoor recreation facilities, including bowling alleys and skating rinks, can reopen. But indoor playgrounds and trampoline parks should remain closed. Indoor recreation facilities should operate at 50 percent capacity or 50 customers, whichever is less.
Museums can reopen at 25 percent capacity and guided tours should be limited to 50 people or fewer.
A Phase 4 Guidelines Overview can be found on the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity website.
IDPH will continue to closely monitor test positivity, ICU bed availability, and the number of people in the hospital with COVID-19. Should data show regions trending in the wrong direction, based on the established mitigation metrics, regions could once again find themselves in a higher tier with increased measures.
On Sunday, Chicago was allowed to enter Phase 4, but Mayor Lori Lightfoot said businesses would remain under their current capacity.
