CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - For the third time in eight days there was a shooting in a North Side neighborhood not known for that much violence. A woman was shot in the Lakeview community.

Police said that shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday a bullet crashed through a window of the bar, Big City Tap, in the 1000 block of West Belmont. A woman was grazed and treated at the scene.

Last Sunday a restaurant worker was killed in an alley behind Clark Street during an apparent robbery and on Thursday a 72-year old woman was grazed in the leg on Broadway.

Alderman Tom Tunney said he’s seen the anguish and anger of people in the community over the shootings and he continues to call for a bigger police presence in Lakeview.
