Singer Brandon Flowers of The Killers is getting himself prepared to go under the knife for shoulder surgery following what sounds like a pretty rough bicycle accident.

"I went over the handlebars on my bike," Flowers admitted during an Instagram Live session alongside drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. on February 12. "An injury from that has manifested itself. I have a torn labrum on that [right] shoulder so I am going under the knife in a couple of weeks to get that taken care of.”

Apparently, the singer has historically "bad shoulders" and had already undergone previous operations on both shoulders in the past. "I will be in a sling for six weeks," he said about his recovery from the upcoming procedure.

"We hope May happens,” Flowers also said, referring to their U.K. tour plans. "It's not looking great."

What is looking good, for fans at least, is the prospect of a new record this year. Aside from that tweet in December seeming to show a tracklist, in their latest IG Live session Brandon and Ronnie confirmed a new record is forthcoming and Brandon even hinted at a "seven-minute song about a slot technician with a gambling problem. It’s good."

It's worth noting that in one of The Killers' more recent Instagram Live sessions, former guitarist Dave Keuning was apparently spotted rejoining the band. In that same session, new music could be heard, but it's unclear if anything audible will be included on a new release.

The band unveiled a new track to celebrate the release of the deluxe edition of their latest album Imploding The Mirage at the end of January.
