Woodstock's 50th Anniversary celebration is fast approaching. While no details have been shared about the lineup, a few rumors have been floating around as to who will be on the bill.
There's going to be two competing events. One produced by original co-founder Michael Lang taking place in Watkins Glen, NY and one taking place in Bethel, NY at Bethel Woods Center For The Arts, the location of the original festival.
Here's a look at who could be playing one of the festivals.
Santana: Carlos Santana confirmed his participation in Bethel's iteration of the festival saying that he wants to serve as the house band.
Neil Young: Those hoping for a Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young reunion shouldn't get their hopes up. Lang reportedly tried to make it happen, but called the situation a mess. Instead, Neil Young could perform a wide variety of sets as he's one of the original performers.
Graham Nash: Like Young, Nash was one of the original performers at Woodstock and could feasibly make a return to celebrate the 50th anniversary.
Joan Baez: Although Joan Baez announced her retirement, we suspect she could make an exception for an event as monumental as Woodstock's 50th.
David Crosby: We can't mention this enough, the likelihood of a CSNY set is slim to none. That being said, Crosby is still touring and could be on the lineup as one of the original performers.
The Who: While this post is about who could play, Roger Daltrey has already said The Who won't be taking part in Woodstock 50.
Dead & Company: The Grateful Dead appeared at the original Woodstock and given their summer touring habits, it's not unreasonable to think they'd play at one of the two festivals.
Stephen Stills: Like his former CSNY bandmates, Stephen Stills was an original Woodstock performer and could very well make an appearance at Woodstock 50.
