Sir Anthony Hopkins is paying his respects to Chadwick Boseman after the 2021 Oscars.

Hopkins, 83, became the oldest actor to win an Oscar on Sunday, receiving the award for best actor for his role as an old man struggling with dementia in “The Father.”

The win was considered by some an upset over Chadwick Boseman, who passed away tragically last year at 43 and was nominated for his role in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”

In a video posted to Instagram on Monday, “The Two Popes” actor expressed surprise at his victory.

“Good morning,” he said in the clip. “Here I am in my homeland in Wales and at 83-years-of-age I did not expect to get this award. I really didn't.”

He went off to remember the late Boseman, who died after a private battle with colon cancer.

“I want to pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman who was taken from us far too early,” Hopkins said.

“I really did not expect this, so I feel very privileged and honored.”

On Sunday, Hopkins posted another video paying tribute — this one to his own father.

In the clip, Hopkins recited the poem “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas at the grave of his father, Richard Hopkins.

The best actor category at the 93rd Academy Awards was presented by Joaquin Phoenix. The Academy accepted the award on behalf of Hopkins, who was not at the live event.

Hopkins previously won the Oscar for best actor in 1992 for his role in “Silence of the Lambs.”
