Man, 67, is punched in the face unprovoked in Downtown Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A 67-year-old man had to be hospitalized after he was sucker-punched on a Downtown Brooklyn street Wednesday, police said.

The NYPD released surveillance footage Thursday of the suspect in the attack at Willoughby and Lawrence streets.

The victim was walking at 7 a.m. when a man punched him in the face. Police said the assault was entirely unprovoked.

The force of the blow caused the victim to hit his head on a parked car. He then fell to the sidewalk and hit his head on the pavement.

He was transported to NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, where he was listed in stable condition.

The attacker fled eastbound on Willoughby Street. Police believe he's between 25 and 35 years old.
