
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is investigating a fatal triple shooting that happened at a Bronx apartment building on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of shots fired inside an apartment located at 936 Rev James A Polite Ave., in Longwood.
Upon arrival, officers observed three men inside of the location with gunshot wounds.
The first man, 28, sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.
The second man, 32, sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.
The third victim, a 56-year-old man, sustained a graze wound to the neck and was treated on scene by EMS in stable condition.
The 28-year-old gunman shot the 56-year-old man and fatally shot the 32-year-old man in his home before attempting to flee down the apartment building stairwell where he tripped and accidentally shot and killed himself in the neck, police sources told the Daily News.
"It was a murder/accidental suicide," the outlet added.
There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
The identification of the deceased individuals is being withheld pending family notification.
