NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police launched an investigation after a man’s body was found in the river off a Bronx park on Monday afternoon, authorities said.
At approximately 2 p.m., the body of a man believed to be in his 50s, was spotted floating in the Bronx River off Starlight Park, according to officials.
The NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit pulled the body out of the river near East 173rd Street, and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Authorities said there were no visible signs of trauma, and the Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the man's cause of death, cops said.
