VIDEO: Ticketed driver pummels NYPD traffic agent in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A driver attacked an NYPD traffic agent who ticketed him in Brooklyn this week, police said Wednesday as they released video of the shocking assault.

The traffic agent was on-duty and in uniform when he was pummeled by the enraged motorist at Avenue Z and E. 16th Street in Sheepshead Bay on Monday afternoon.

The agent was issuing a parking summons shortly before 1 p.m. when the man stormed up and got in his face, video shows.

The man then knocked the agent’s cap off his head and shoved him, according to the video.

The two men grappled on the sidewalk before the driver pushed the agent against a white sedan, video shows.

Off camera, the man pushed the agent to the ground and punched him multiple times in the head and body, police said.

The suspect fled in a yellow 2022 Volkswagen Golf GTI with New York plates KTV7675, according to police.

The agent was transported in stable condition to NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island.
