The Atlanta Falcons were able to find a way to win on the road against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. The Falcons currently sit tied for second in the division at 6-7 behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. First-year head coach Arthur Smith has been able to find ways to put his team in positions to win.

With the financial restrictions that the Falcons have, and the amount of less-than-stellar talent, Smith has squeezed every bit of potential he possibly could so far.
Jon Chuckery believes that Smith is meeting expectations in his first year given that he has his team in the playoff conversation in December.
"They’ve been able to find their way to victories in close games,” Chuckery said. That has been the biggest difference in this new regime, which almost certainly justifies Smith’s hiring early on.
If there were any skeptics about the capabilities of Arthur Smith as the leader of this team, he is starting make those go away. If Smith somehow figures out how to get this team in the playoffs, he should be in the conversation of an end-of-the-year award.
