Though Los Angeles and New York are still universally recognized as the best places to find a career in entertainment, a new list from MovieMaker.com wanted to recognize other markets in North America as growing hubs for future filmmakers to fulfill their dreams.

In the list, Dallas was ranked the seventh best city in North America to live as a filmmaker, noting that the city “is made for the spotlight, with its dazzling skyline, striking architecture, ubiquitous public art, and vast green space,”

It also doesn’t hurt that Taylor Sheridan has decided to film nearly all his projects primarily in North Texas.

Dallas edged out Fort Worth, who appeared at No. 12 on the list.  Across the rest of the state, Austin was named No. 5, Houston ranked No. 10, San Antonio ranked No. 14, and El Paso landed at No. 25.

The best city to live in as a filmmaker, according to the study, is Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
