Arlington (1080 KRLD) - Visitors to one Arlington waterpark will be greeted with beefed-up security this holiday weekend.
The Arlington Police Department has installed skywatch towers in the parking lot of Six Flags Hurricane Harbor.
It comes in the wake of last month's fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy in the parking lot.
"The park has been proactive over the past year in assisting the department with hiring more officers in an off-duty capacity to support their robust security team," writes Christopher Cook, Arlington Police deputy chief, in an email to KRLD news.
"The park has multiple security measures in place, both seen and unseen," Cook writes. "All guests must go through a metal detection system."
