PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia has surpassed 1,000 shooting victims so far this year.

Monday morning, a man was shot in the abdomen on a Market-Frankford Line train. Within the span of three hours that evening, there were multiple double shootings.

Around 5:30 p.m., two teens were shot in their car in Olney, ages 15 and 19. Around 7 p.m. in North Philadelphia, a man and woman were gunned down.

Less than a half-hour earlier, another shooting in the same area left a man dead and another in critical condition from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Another man was fatally shot in the head just after 11 p.m. in North Philadelphia.

And over the weekend, there were multiple triple shootings.

In North Philadelphia on Sunday, a man was shot and killed from a headshot wound, and two women were also injured.

On Saturday, two men were killed and one child was injured in an Overbrook shooting. Hours later in a separate shooting, three people were wounded after a gunman fired more than 50 shots at a graduation party.

Of all the gunshot victims this year, authorities say almost 100 of them have been under the age of 18.

Homicides continue to rise as well: more than 260 victims.
