The day has arrived. Late Thursday afternoon, NFL owners are expected to approve the sale of the Commanders, and Dan Snyder’s tenure as owner will be over.
It is a reality that EB genuinely thought would never happen in his lifetime, so he opened Thursday’s show with joyous disbelief.
“It’s a pretty good feeling,” EB said. “It didn’t hit me until last night, and I was like, ‘You know what? This is really gonna happen.’
“I was mocking people who thought this would ever happen. I was like ‘This dude is not selling. It’s just not gonna happen.’”
But here we are, ready for Josh Harris to take over the Commanders, and bring in a new era of hope in Washington, a franchise that has desperately needed to turn the page.
“This, I just did not see,” EB said. “I thought he was gonna own the team until he dies, then one of his kids would own it, and we would be doomed.”
