After the owners vote to approve the sale of the Commanders to Josh Harris’ ownership group, which is the expected outcome, Dan Snyder will no longer be the owner of the team he always wanted to own.

That reality brings lots of joy to Cakes.

“We all know it was his dream to own the Washington Redskins,” Cakes said. “He grew up here, was a fan, went to games with his dad…and he accomplished that dream back in 1999. It pleases me so greatly that he now has to part with this precious asset that he loved so much, but he destroyed.

“He destroyed a great thing.”

Cakes takes pleasure in Snyder’s dream being destroyed, only because Snyder destroyed the dreams of Commanders fans by leading the franchise through years of turmoil and losing, and now, despite the massive paycheck he will receive, he will always be the owner who sunk a once proud franchise in fantastic fashion.

“He’s gonna abscond with $6 billion,” Cakes said. “But he has to live the rest of his life in shame and embarrassment for tarnishing what was once one of the heritage franchises of the NFL.”
