Football analyst Warren Sharp's annual NFL team-by-team preview has been released and the Washington Commanders have received a tough rating with a forecasted win total of 6.5. Kevin Sheehan had lots of thoughts on the analysis including Sharp's take on why the Commanders might overperform and why the might underperform that paltry win total.

When it came to positional rankings in the analysis, the Commanders' defense - the Front 7 ranked 4th out of 32, Secondary 14th – beat the offense which received lackluster rankings – Quarterbacks 32nd, Offensive Line 30th, Running Backs 29th, and Receivers 20th (more on that last ranking below). And, of course, head coach Ron Rivera was 28 as he "has not coached a winning season since 2017."

Overall here was the big takeaway: "The lack of talent is concerning enough, but we're also losing faith in Ron Rivera, who dropped seven spots in our head coach rankings from last season."

There was some confusion among people in looking at the ranking for the Commanders' "receivers" is that Sharp's ranking includes the tight ends, which for Washington is pulling down their dynamic duo at the top of the wide receiver depth chart.

The running back ranking was something Sheehan also took exception with, but the Sharp ranking was similar to the one from Pro Football Focus, who gave Brian Robinson JR the 13th-best overall grade and 29th-best rushing grade for the 2022 NFL season and Antonio Gibson the 32nd-best overall grade and the 67th-best rushing grade.

After giving the Sharp analysis a solid run-through, Sheehan and producer Denton Day got into a spirited debate over which Washington defensive tackle they would rather have going forward Jonathan Allen or Daron Payne?
