
Pride Month has arrived in Chicago, and that means there will be no shortage of events in the city celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.
In 2022, those celebrations include Pride nights at the Shedd Aquarium, Lincoln Park Zoo and Wrigley Field, as well as Chicago’s Pride Parade and LGBTQ+ readings at Chicago Public Libraries.
Here are 11 Pride events we’re keeping track of this month.
Shedd Aquarium Pride Night: June 1
Starting at 6 p.m., the Shedd Aquarium will host a 21-and-up celebration of Pride, featuring an ocean-themed drag showcase and multiple DJs. Participants can enjoy access to most aquarium exhibits and food and drinks available for purchase. A photo ID is required for entry.
When: June 1 from 6 – 10 p.m.
Price: $39.95 for non-Chicago residents, $19.95 for Chicago residents, and $14.95 for members
Drag Story Time at Chicago Public Libraries: multiple dates
Chicago Public Library is partnering with local drag artists to put on four family friendly reading events throughout June. Drag artists Mac K. Roni, Abhijeet, Kitty Banks and Loren J will perform the readings, which will take place at library locations on the South, West, and North sides of the city. The events are for children ages 0 – 5 and their caregivers.
When: June 1 at 6 p.m.; June 3 at 11 a.m.; June 8 at 1 p.m.; and June 13 at 10:30 a.m.

Name Change Clinic at the Broadway Youth Center: June 6
The Broadway Youth Center on the North Side will provide free legal support to anyone who needs help changing their name. The center wrote that anyone looking to attend should fill out an intake form, arrive with clear photos or scans of their birth certificate and an Illinois driver’s license.
When: June 6 from 12 – 5 p.m.
Price: Free
Pride Bar Crawl: June 11
A Pride bar crawl will take over Halsted Street on June 11. Check in will start at the North End at 4 p.m., and from there, attendees can visit any of the other seven bar crawl locations, including Bobby Loves, Replay Lakeview and Charlie’s Chicago. And to finish it all off, participants can come to the afterparty from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. at Fantasy Night Club Chicago.
When: June 11 from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Price: $20 – $25, with a portion of proceeds going to the Trevor Project
Chicago Pride Fest: June 18 – 19
The weekend before Chicago’s Pride Parade, Northalsted will host a two-day festival featuring performances from CupcakKe, Alaska Thunder****, Mila Jam and many more. The street festival will also include more than 150 arts and crafts vendors. And if that's not enough to do, there's a pet parade on Sunday.
When: June 18 – 19 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Adult’s Night Out: Pride Part at Lincoln Park Zoo: June 23
Lincoln Park Zoo is hosting an 18-and-up event featuring drag queen bingo, a live DJ and, of course, access to Lincoln Park Zoo’s buildings and grounds. The event will run from 6:30 – 10 p.m., and tickets are available for the Super Early Bird price of $15. Once those tickets are sold, the price will increase to $25. Food and drink will be available for cash purchases.
When: June 23 from 6:30 – 10 p.m.

Pride Bowl flag football tournament: June 23 – 25
The Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association is hosting its annual Pride Bowl from June 23 – 25 on the Montrose and Margate fields along Lake Michigan. It’ll feature a 32-team open division and a 12-team women's division. Players will receive one tourney T-shirt and free admission to the June 25 Pride in the Park event. Registration is open until June 21.

Proud to Run Chicago: June 25
The 40th annual Proud to Run will kick off on June 25, starting at 601 West Montrose Avenue. The event includes a 5K run, a 10K run and a 5K walk. Hurry to sign up because registration will cost $50 until June 2, and then the price will increase to $55.

Pride Energy: June 26
Small World Collective is hosting Pride Energy, a queer pride event at the Promontory in Hyde Park, on June 26. The event will center around black queer women, as well as transgender and nonconforming folks, but the event page added that “all energies are welcome.” Pride Energy will include performances from DJ Dapper, Mocha Mocha, Fierce and more.
When: June 26, at 4 p.m.

Chicago Pride Parade: June 26
For the first time since 2019, the Chicago Pride Parade is returning to Halsted Street in Pride Month. The parade will launch at noon at the corner of Montrose and Broadway in Uptown and head south before ending at Diversey and Sheridan in Lincoln Park.

Chicago Cubs Pride Night: June 29
The Cubs will be celebrating the LGBTQ+ community on June 29, when the team will be playing a home game against the Cincinnati Reds. The Cubs will be giving away a rainbow-themed Cubs hat, and a portion of the proceeds will go to Cubs Charities.
When: June 29 at 7:05 p.m.
