(WWJ) -- A police chase that began in Southfield and ended with a crash in Detroit has led to the arrest of three people.

Police were first called to a gas station at the intersection of 8 Mile Road and Shiawassee Street in Southfield on Sunday night after receiving calls that two men were trying to force a woman into a car.

When authorities arrived to the scene, the car sped away with police in pursuit.

The chase continued into Detroit, and ended when the car crashed into a tree near Pilgrim Street an Ashton Road on the city’s west side.

There were no injuries in the crash, and three suspects were taken into custody after at least two of them -- a man and a woman -- initially tried to hide from police.

Police say the incident was not an attempted kidnapping, but the car involved in the chase was a stolen vehicle.

The investigation by police is ongoing.
