A northern Oakland County man who was thrown from an off-road vehicle has died from his injuries.
The Sheriff's Department says Chad Richmond, 41, of Brandon Township was riding in the four-wheeler with a friend when the vehicle hit a rock at a home on Oakwood Road and flipped over.
The crash happened last Saturday, but the Sheriff's Department wasn't alerted until Monday. The driver of the 2008 Polaris Ranger RZR vehicle, a 38-year-old Springfield man, suffered a broken collarbone but no other serious injuries. Authorities say neither man was wearing a seat belt or a helmet and alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
The Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the case.
