A Mississippi grandmother and her boyfriend are under arrest and charged with felony child abuse after allegations of caging up her grandchildren.

The Tate County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report from a teacher at East Tate Elementary School after a student spoke of receiving punishment for misbehaving that included being locked in a cage.

Child Protective Services accompanied investigators dispatched to the home of Brenda Dennison, 51, where they discovered a “metal cage with a locking device” and evidence that seemed to show children had indeed been locked inside, according to WLOX.

Dennison and her boyfriend Adrian LeSure, 52, were both arrested under the felony child abuse indictment. The four children who were living in the home are now in the custody of CPS.
