The New Orleans Police Department says detectives have arrested a woman in connection to a murder that happened Tuesday on Touro Street.
On Tuesday, the NOPD arrested Tonica Mutin in the investigation of a homicide reported the same day in the 2600 block of Touro Street.
An NOPD report says, “At about 1:30 p.m., NOPD Fifth District officers conducting a wellness check at the location discovered an unresponsive adult male inside of a residence. The victim was declared deceased at the scene. Based on evidence found at the scene, the signal for the incident was changed to a homicide.”
Through investigation, detectives determined Mutin to be the perpetrator, and an arrest warrant was obtained for one count of second-degree murder and one count of obstruction of justice.
With her attorney by her side, Mutin turned herself into police.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will officially identify the victim and determine the cause of death upon completion of an autopsy.
Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Homicide Det. Miles Guirreri at 504-658-5300.
