POINT PLEASANT BEACH, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Two people were taken into custody after two other people were stabbed on a Jersey Shore beach Monday afternoon, police said.
Point Pleasant Beach police officers responded to a knife fight on the beach in the vicinity of 300 Boardwalk on Monday afternoon, the department said on Facebook. Two male victims with stab wounds were taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center, police said.
Two other males were taken into custody after the incident, according to the department.
In a Facebook post, Point Pleasant Beach Mayor Paul Kanitra said the chief of police would provide more details about the incident Monday evening.
"Thanks to the quick and heroic work of our brave officers, the suspect is now in custody and there is no further threat to the public. Thank you as well to the lifeguards and first aid teams that responded equally as quickly," Kanitra wrote.
A video posted to Twitter showed police and lifeguards responding to the scene.
