2 men killed in Brooklyn, at least a dozen hurt across NYC in weekend shootings

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two men were killed in Brooklyn and at least a dozen other people have been wounded in a spate of shootings across the city this weekend.

A 24-year-old man was shot and killed in Bushwick around 3:45 a.m. Saturday, police said.


Officers found the man on Madison Street, near Bushwick Avenue, inside a dark-colored sedan with multiple gunshot wounds to his face and body. 

The man, identified as Elijah Mims, was pronounced dead at Woodhull Hospital.

Then early Sunday, a 25-year-old man was shot and killed on E. 102nd Street, near Glenwood Road, in Canarsie around 1 a.m.

Officers found the man, who has not been identified, on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his head.

Residents said they heard a party around the time of the shooting, but police haven't said if it was potentially linked to the shooting.

No arrests have been made in either of the killings, police said.

At least a dozen other people were wounded in eight shootings across the city this weekend, according to police.

Among those injured were three people shot at Myrtle Avenue and Washington Park in Fort Greene sometime after 1 a.m. Sunday.

The injured victims in Fort Greene include two boys, ages 15 and 17, and a 20-year-old woman. Police said they had non-life-threatening injuries.
