NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Four men were shot, one of them fatally, when gunfire erupted in Coney Island early Sunday morning, police said.
The four men were shot outside the Carey Gardens housing development on W. 23rd Street around 2 a.m., police said.
A 27-year-old man who was among those shot died at Coney Island Hospital.
Sunday morning's shooting "may have been retaliation" for the shooting Saturday, police told the New York Post.
Police said that on Saturday alone there were 16 shootings across the city, with 18 people shot, including three fatally.
A 34-year-old man also died Sunday morning after he was shot while sitting in his car at 213th Street and 112th Avenue in Queens Village, police said.
