NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two young children were found safe after they were abducted by their non-custodial parents in the Bronx on Monday, the NYPD said.
Officials said 4-year-old Cella McDowell and 2-year-old Chi McDowell were found in the company of their parents, by police in Delaware at approximately 1 a.m. on Tuesday.
The children live in Virginia with their grandparents but were visiting their maternal grandmother for the week in the Bronx when the parents showed up and took the children.
The parents, who don’t have custody of the children, were driving a 2008 Toyota Camry with Virginia license plate UPG-9541, police said.
The alleged abduction took place on Grace Avenue, near Adee Avenue, in the Baychester section of the Bronx, the NYPD said.
Police started searching for the two children around 6:10 p.m. on Monday, the NYPD said.
